Construction continues on Ark-La-Tex Livestock Auction's new facilities at Smithland.

Ark-La-Tex Livestock Auction LLC is scheduled to begin holding livestock sales by mid June.  The new auction barn is located in the Smithland community, 1.5 miles south of the interesection of Highways 49 and 43.  Construction is underway on the holding pens and sales arena.  Owners Jason and Robert Law are anticipating drawing cattle from around the East Texas and North Lousiana area for the weekly auctions.  They also anticipate having regular special sales.  For more information call:
