Hundreds of people enjoyed the 60th Annual Historical Pilgrimage in Jefferson.  With the rain holding out and while the temperatures were a bit on the muggy side, folks from around the East Texas area gathered to enjoy the parade, reenactments and tour of homes.

The Diamond Bessie Murder Trial play resumed in the newly restored playhouse.  Performances were completely sold out during the annual run that began on Thursday night and continued through Sunday afternoon performances.

Perhaps the highlight was the occupation of the city by hundreds of Union and Confederate troops portrayed by reenactment enthusiasts from across the country.  The reenactors skirmish during the Battle of Jefferson as part of the 60th Annual Pilgrimage in Jefferson.  The Battle of Jefferson is a fictional reenactment.  While Jefferson was an active port and center of manufacturing, the city never saw any battles during the Civil War.
